I have lived in West Virginia now for fourteen years. After that long I thaught that I had a good idea of what our deer look like. It has always been told to me that you have to go to Ohio to shoot a big buck. We just don't grow them that big. Well yesterday I was taking a nap in between hunts and a friend called to see if I had a camera because he just saw a"MONSTER" down the road from my house. So he picks me up and we drove down the main road going through Weirton and he puuls over and tells me to look up the hill about thirty yards off the road. There, bedded down with a doe was the largest buck I have ever seen in the wild. I tried to get closer for a better picture but he stood up und trotted further up the hill. The best part is that he was only about 400 yards down hill from my parents house and I still have my urban archery taggs. I know I will probably never see him again, but it gives me something to look for. He's not a monster by somes standards, but he is a buck of a lifetime aroud here. Wish me luck. Sorry, I can't get the pictures to show upon the post. Just links.

Update. When my parents went for a walk this evening this buck was standing about ten yards inside the woods behind their house. I still have to shoot a doe to be able to shoot a buck inside the city. I haven't seen any close enough to shoot though.
