Skinwalker, welcome, I too live here in Bama. The best thing you can do with that rifle is to hit the deer in the ribs or the neck. Good marksmanship is the short answer to your question. A300 mag is going to be distructive to meat on any deer size game, so shoot him where you are not going to eat. The lung shot will solve your problem. If you don't know where the lungs are just go to Wal Mart and look at one of those archery deer targets as the lung area is clearly outlined on them! Again welcome Glenn
