RE: How's your food plot producing this Fall?
So, far they have barely touched mine! I planted 50/50 shot plot one one side and green patch plus on the other, then 90 % the green patch plus died due to lack of rain, so I reseeded that half with winter wheat. My brassicas are doing great, but the only thing I have seen eating them is rabbits. This was my first year planting brassicas and I was unaware about them needing several below-freezing days to sweeten. I probably wont plant them again in a hunting plot just because by the time they sweeten its already gun season, and I try to harvest my 3 deer in bow season. If they hit them hard late winter I would plant them in a different location to keep good food for the herd and possibly hunt over in December if I have to.
I have yet to see a single deer in my food plot, except at night on the deer cam. Just not good hunting right now.
I planted 2 foodplots at my Grandmas place and the deer are using them some but we had several unexpected people come down to hunt this year so I've only got to hunt them twice. I should spray em with Roundup since they just came in a took over the hunting the first week of bow season. [:@]
