It sounds like you are looking for a quality firearm. Both rifles you mention would make a great choice. If you are willing to step up a few hundred dollars, I would consider the synthetic stocked Cooper. It is a real jewel. I would look at one in 308 caliber. They are american made!!! So is the Remington, but the custom KS costs as much as the Phoenix Cooper, maybe more. Tom.
