Default RE: 30-30 scoped?

Well I guess I am just the odd man out. I had a 30-30 and it was scoped. And all my friends 30-30's are scoped. I had a 3x 9 x 40 on it. My reason for that kind of magnification was because I wanted to be able to look the deer over real well. My eyes are not the best in the world, and it helps me to get a good look at the deer. If I got another 30-30, I would do it the same way again. The minimum I would go would be a good 2 x 7 scope. And I would look at something in the Nikon line or the Upper end Bushnell line. And if you are having fitting problems ( because of the short stock ), you could get a sims slip on recoil pad, and that would give you an extra inch ( roughly ) added to the stock, making a better fit.

But as I said, that is just me and my opinion. A lot of people would disagree with me, but it worked for me, and it might just work for you. But by the same token, it might not. That is for you to decide. If you are not sure, go to your local gun shop, and take your gun with you , and ask if you can slip one on and see if it helps your fit and ability to line up on the scope. I know at my local shop, they are more than happy to do it.

Good luck and good hunting.

God Bless
