RE: Wind effects?
A deer's sense of smell is much greater than a humans. If you don't play the wind game, you will be spookin deer you don't even know (they will smell you before they get in range). So as a rule of thumb always hunt with the wind in your face. Two good ways to learn the wind direction is to carry a squeeze bottle with talcum powder in it, or to tie a small thread to your bow or anything else you will have with you all the time. Good luck.
