Wind direction is one of the most important factors when picking out your place to hunt. If it isn't right, go to another place. Something I do that sometimes helps when the wind is swirling is that I keep a piece or two of flagging tape around the trail area or plot area. Often the wind at ground level isn't the same as what you ahave in the tree stand. I've never had a lot of luck in high wind conditions.
