Default RE: 60 yards!? are you kidding me?

i dont like making anything over a 30 yard shot. but ive been accurate on 3d targets to 60 with some extra pins. while hunting i wait for a good 30yd or less shot tho. i had a small buck come in on me 2 years ago that i REALLY misjudge the shot on. i knew it was on the long side but not as long as it turned out to be. it was about 55yards, i aimed at his spine and sunk a muzzy 90gr broad head behind the leg, but far enough back to miss the heart and barely get the bottom of the lungs. the shot would have killed him easily if given the proper time before tracking...but shortly after he ran off down the hill i heard the brush stop crashing...then BOOOOOMMMMM.

follwed a good blood trail down the hill where a father and his 11 yr old son were proud as can be over the boys first buck...a little 6pt with 2 holes in his side. i was bowhunting (legally) on the youth hunt day where kids under 16 can rifle hunt. the father and i both knew that was my deer, but when the wounded buck came to them his boy shot it...and because he dropped him in his tracks, that boy got to take home his first buck.

enough of my story tho, it was a good shot for such a long distance...but i'll keep mine to about 30-35yds max from now on.
