cayugad,has it right, power belt type bullets and a lot of others are low in BC which affects accuracy as well as drop. With SW or SST or any of the ballisticlly designed newer bullets around 1 3/4 calibers long which is 200 gr in 40cal or 250 to 300 in 45 you should have better luck. As for the adjustment problem you did not give us much info could be a scope problem. As for pulling the breach plug every 3 shots not even 777 is that bad crud ring and all. you wipe between shots with a lightly dampend patgh and follow it with a dry one or try RS pyrodex with about 120 gr and work up and down[in 10 gr increments]to find what groups best; some have had good luck with APP FF which you dont need to clean until you go home.
