Congrats on the Phoenix, I have 3 Excals but that's my "go to" bow. I'm using the same Excal string and have gone from 357 gr. stock Excal GT's to brass inserts for 431 gr. The Excel costs a few fps that you don't need anyhow, lol, and you can figure 1 fps for every 5 gr in increased arrow weight. Rumor has it that most Excals do their best when the brace height is set at 1 1/4" above where the rail meets the riser. One of advantage of the Excel is that it doesn't stretch much.
