Well, you haven't struck a nerve in me, yet. Seriously, I don't know enough about any of the designs to really debate.

But, some of the things you mention are actually positives from other peoples' perspective.

You say the safety is weak, is it dangerous? That would be very important to me if it is.Also, I assume you are talking about the Accu-trigger. Most say they are good and you say they are horrible. Mine was 2 1/2 lbs out of the box and no creep. My Ruger 10-22 was 7+ lbs. After I put in a new trigger kit, including an oversized pin, it is 2 lbs. But, after I was done, I think I had $70 or so into the trigger alone.

I know they aren't a custom rifle, they are what they are. I also know the scope that came on it is a cheap Simmons, but it is adequate for what I want, right now. For $355 I could not be more thrilled. If I were going to pay $1000, would I buy the Savage? No.

Anyway, I am not trying to start a nasty bunch of name calling. There has been enough of that on here lately. I am interested in hearing everyones opinions, even if I don't agree sometimes.
