I would never consider using a Savage under normal circumstances. If I was forced to choose between a Savage and a Remington 710, I'd cry as I walked away with the Savage.
Ranger, what problem do you have with the Savage? I just bought one in 243. Shot it a little yesterday in 30-40 mph winds, so couldn't tell much. I very much like the way it is put together and think it will be a good shooter.

I have read a lot of good about them and not a lot of bad. Would be curious to hear your opinion.
