Default RE: Deer keep smelling me and leaving

Ok, here is what I did and the results I have seen.

I also needed snake boots (have seen 8 so far this year, two were pit vipers) so I bought some Irish Setter snake boots which have scent-lok.

I also started brushing my teeth with baking soda and using the earth scent wafers on my hat. I also continued using a cover scent, whether it is coon urine, doe urine, or doe estrus on the bushes around my stand. I also hunt the wind by having 3 or 4 stand locations that I choose based on wind direction. And I always shower and wash my clothes with scent-free soap before hunting.

Results: I have seen animals legal to shoot in 6 of the last 7 times I have hunted. I have shot a 137 lb sow at 35 yards, a 125 lb sow at 30 yards. I have let a 70 lb button buck walk that was directly under my treestand sniffing a bottle of doe urine cover scent that I dropped. Last night I allowed a doe and fawn to walk that were 30 yards away. They didn't show up until 20 mins past sunset and in my rifle sights I couldn't make out if the doe was legal and for sure I had no good shot to avoid the fawn. Twice hogs have been alerted but it was always by a squirrel or another animal walking up.

IE, whatever it is that I'm doing now is working! Hope to kill that doe soon to put some deer meat in my freezer.

Oh, and the snorting I was hearing was hogs. This area is overrun by hogs but since I have now killed 7 this year the deer are showing up more often. Hogs snort is VERY different from the blow sound that a deer makes. (I'm still learning)

Thanks to all for the advice!
