Welcome. Congrats on your elk

Our elk hunt wasin Sept (week of 18th) we took 4, all of which were via the call. They were talking mostly at pre dawn and we had our best success in the morning, in fact all 4 were shot then. On the night prior to seasonand the second last night we huntedI got responses from bulls in the evening to my calls. Iharvesteda6x5 sat when working a herd bull, he camea chucking from the NW. Playing the part of a split herd or lost cows hesuckedright in on que. Was a wonderful hunt got in tight with the herd bull to see nothing but large tines and having him scream at you then sats go off inresponse was what my elk dreams are made of.

I have no clue what they are doing now, 4 1/2 hours away, no season or tag sohaven't been back since.
