the ammo isn't much more expensive than the .338, at my supply store a box of .270 Gr Federal soft points for the .375 cost 25.00, while the 225 Gr .338 is 23.00
Where are you buying them at? Even the standard calibers like 30-06 are running closer to $35 or more a box now where I live. Though that is with the premium bullets.
