RE: BOOM, head shot?
It really is not a good shot to take. The brain is a weird thing. You can lose half of it and still function fine or you can lose the smallest part of it and now you're a vegetable. If you shoot a deer through the boiler room and get heart and lung then you're probably better off.
I watched my buddy shoot a deer in the head at 50-75 yards 3 years ago with a muzzleloader. He had knocked his scope off kilt and got EXTREMELY lucky. Deer dropped like a ton of bricks. Definately not the shot to take. Like was said earlier, it moves too much. If you can take a shot at an 8 inch target that isn't moving much or a 1 inch target moving all over the place which one would you rather take?
