Iwas doing a bit of shooting and noticed that my particular gun will put the first shot right in the group when I use Sheath as a barrel protector. It actually shoots more accurate than with a clean barrel so I field cleaned it real good and it shoots a bit high out of the group with the first shot usually about 4 inches. I am thinking about using Sheath as a sabot lub and wiping the barrel lightly with it when I field clean.
Has any one else experimented with it?Lee
Although SHEATH claims to be a lubricant as well as a preservative, I have not tried it for this purpose.
However, if it lubricaters as well as it prevents rust & corrosion, I see no reason not to give it a try for this puropse, anyway.....
I sure like it for a bore treatment after cleaning as you don't have to wipe it out of the bore and breech area when you go back to the range next week......
