Default RE: Ballistics Questions on FT Per Second

DM, that is what I figured, the 7MM 150 C-L is probably designed for bigger animals at longer ranges than a .30 150 C-L. Looking at the exits on the two deer that I mentioned, you would think that they were shot with FMJ's!

I know that many of the comparisons we make on these threads are unfair/unaccurate! Apples to Oranges!

A better comparison might be the C-L's from the 7MM RM to one used in slower 7MM's such as the 7MM-08. I don't recall the 7MM-08 being loaded with a 150 C-L though, so that comparison would be out of the question too, without possible handloads. I am sure that the 7MM-08 140 C-L's are not only lighter, but probably constructed to expand better in the slower 7MM's.

Going back to the original topic, again, with 2 "identical" .30's, faster is going to equal flatter trajectory, and better expansion.
Again, in the real world, NO deer would ever tell the difference between the .308 and the '06 with the same bullets!
