thats max. 40yds!!!..............right??? mabye 50???
Forty yards max!!! But some guys in the CB world are just like some guys in the Vertical Bow world and can and do take longer shots. But like I said before, anything past thirty yards and you open up the door to alot happening. The arrow is only going say 280 to 320 FPS and out at thirty yards its going alot slower so any thing past that is just to risky.
I see you are new and making alot of post in the bowhunting forum also about compound bows. Are you making the decision to go from gun to bow and are trying to figure out what kind to shoot? I read all of your post and you sound pretty "green" to bow hunting. If you have no experience in bow hunting you will need someone close as in friends and family to help you out with a vertical bow. Vertical bows can get pricey and there is alot of trial and error with one, like finding which arrows to buy, which rest, release and so on. If you have a limited budget the vertical bow can eat up yourmoney fast and you may be disappointed in the end, especially if you do not have a mentor to help you.
Now, if you want the better choice for a beginner, then you need to get a CB. Most CB company's offer "packages" and you can get one, take it out of the box and within a dozen shots or so you wil be hitting the bullseye. CB's are allot more forgiving for the new guy. If you are on your own and do not have a fellow vertical bow hunter close by willing to help everyday you shoot, then go with a CB. Also a CB will help you master the "twenty yard" game and learn to hunt deer with in close range situations with less problems. Then if you feel you need more of a challenge then you could by a vertical bow and open up the door to more variables. Not saying CB are alot easier, but they have less variables like drawing on a deer and squeaky rest and so on that you will need to learn to over come with a vertical bow.
But if you are asking questions cause you want to know if the CB will get you farther then a vertical bow then the answer is NO!! I think an average CB is more powerful then the average vertical bow the first ten yards. But after ten yards I think a CB starts running out of gas real fast compared to a vertical bow. Just my opinion.
