Your wife isn't the only one that's done that. I was watching a couple of does walk through a Christmas tree farm about five years ago. They were out about fifty yards so I setupto take a shot down one of the rows. After about thirty seconds one walks into my scope and I think "man, she's big". I settle the crosshairs in her ear and squeeze. She dropps in place. There she is, all sixty pounds. She was only two tree rows over from me and walked between me and the other does I was watching, but I didn't notice because I was looking through the scope. Now I always open the other eye before I shoot.
