Default RE: Pic of Deer I killed

Great deer ya got there.

It brought back flashes from last year when my wife killed her deer on opening a.m. I bought her all new gear, her first set of camo, boots, everything. I bought her her first new gun (her choice ). She chose a rem. 7400 carbine in 30.06 w/ a new nikon scope, and I built her a new tower stand.

About 7:30 am she shot, scaring the hel- out of me ( her stand is only about 200 yards from me ) , and calls me on the radio about 5 minutes later saying she killed one. I ask her if she wants me to come get it. She says she already dragged it out of the way. Oh ! ok. I wondered about that, cause she is only like 5'1" and 120 lbs. But ok. whatever.

I go to get her at lunch time, and back the truck up to get the deer, she had drug it into the bushes. Get to the back of the truck , look in the bushes, and honest ... it was smaller than yours. I mean we are talking small. maybe 50 lbs. Picked it up with one arm, and put it in the bed of the truck. I asked her why she shot one so small, and she said it looked bigger in the scope. LOL... She had hunted in the past, 742 woodmaster but with open sights only. She swears she thought it was a grown deer.. I had to laugh.

But that thing sure was tender.... Good eating.

Congrats on your deer - Bon Appitite'
