RE: squirrel?
You have alot of replies but I have a great couple of recipees that I use.
Skin em and clean em. This recipee calls for three squirrels but you could expand it.
Take the cleaned carcasses and par boil in salted water for about 10-15 minutes. Rub the meat with fresh cracked black pepper, rosemary and garlic. Lay the in a dutch over whose body ismoderatley hot and the lid should be medium hot. Slice an onion and lay on top and around the meat. Then slice potatoes at no more than 1'4" thickness and lay them in there too. Drape a few slices of bacon over all. replace the lid of the dutch oven and pile coals on top. In about 30-45 minutes, the meat and potatoes are done
You need to check out a book by Horace Kephardt called "camping and woodscraft". I believe it is on tennesee press. He has alot of wild game recipees and also chapters on marksmanship, axemanship, cabin building, bivuoacs, and compass use.
