Jamiebuck,

I had that same fever this evening, I think its buck fever. Had to take the night off work and hit the woods. Wife got home a little after 5 so I got a late start. I got set up about 5:25/5:30, and immediately started seeing deer. Had a doe and fawn walk out of the corn at 5:45 and stayed out of range. At 5:55, had a button buck walk right to me and under my stand and out to the corn. At about 6:15 another doe walks from the corn to within 10 steps of me. She caught my movement and bounded off to about 12/15 yards. She shielded her head behind a large maple tree, but left her torso/vitals exposed. I was able to draw and let the air out of her. Ran right into the corn and I watched her crash. Marked the blood trail and went home to get my daughter to help with the track job. She did a great job, we had blood everywhere and soon found the doe in the high corn. daughter's not crazy about watching the gut job, but she was still excited about the recovery. Too dark to post any quality pics so I'll try in the morning. I ahve to show you guys the entrance wound on this deer. Hit high behind the shoulder and exited through the far front leg. The entrance wound is unbelievable, it blew a softball size hole in the hide something I've never seen with an arrow. Again only a picture will do the story justice. Archery Research AR31, Easton XX75 2314 arrows, Quickspin vanes, Thunderhead 100g broadheads, G5 Optix five pin sight.
