Gasket lacqueris not waterproof. When I have found a lost arrow, I have noticed the cracking of the finish too. The one thing that seemed to help was that I dipped the ends of the shafts after tapering. That seems to help. I shoot carbons now and don't worry about the weather. I do miss my woodies though.
