Same thing happend to my borther in law a few years back--they found the buck the next day about 500 yards from the shot point. so dont be afraid to check a little farther than you think. He will probably take the easitest path and as everyone says go to water--if there is any. You will find him if you had great blood that soon, he may have just plaugged the hole somehow.
