RE: Need calling Info ASAP!
I have the can call and I use it but I have become very careful on when I use it. Through my experiences of hunting for 17 years I have come to the conclution that when using calls blindly I have bucks circle me just out of sight wind me and take offand blow. Thus educating them on the calling and my scent.
I now use calling very carefully (grunting or can calling: The can call has worked best for me in the pre-rut/begining stages of the rut. For instancewhen I have a buck chasing a doe and she isn't ready yet. If I see this the can call is the call to use, use it as many times as you can until the doe hears it becasue she will bring the buck right to you hoping to dump him off on another doe. Another time to use it is when you see a buck trotting by or walking by your location with his nose to the ground following scent of a hot doe. Tip the can once and he's usually to excited to take the time to wind you and see what you are, and he'll come right in.Another technique is to put tarsalgland scent/esterous scent30 yards on bothsides of your location so if they docircle down wind of you they willhit those scents in the wind before they getto your wind giving themconfirmation that it is a deer doing the calling.
Other wise using this call blindly has just gotten me busted time and timeagain.Hope that helps.
