RE: What's so hot about the Patriot?

From a consumer standpoint, I could care less who came up with what first. I want to know who's doing it best. Is it Bow Tech??

You're right who came up with it first doesn't mean a thing and it's true that parallel limb design has been around for quite some time.
I think BowTech has nearly perfected the design and just to set the record straight Bowtech did release the design last Oct. and then came the Legacy in Jan.
Not a big deal though... Personally I would be honored if someone were to copy my designs especially someone with such a big name as Mathews...
I'm not meaning this post to be at all bad towards Mathews but it's just too coincidental that they came out with a design so close to the Patriot and then say they pioneered paralell limb design. That's the part that I don't like and I know it's only used as a marketing tool...Who Cares though...To each their own and I'm certain both companies have sold bunches of their own versions...
I know Kevin worked long and hard doing a whole bunch of R&D to come up with the right limb angles, deflections and such to make the design work as well as it does and also shoot the speeds that it does.
It wasn't something he just threw together in a day and he told me about the work involved.
He also came up with the term VFT which seems to have become pretty generic these days. Last year I read posts where people were bashing/making fun of the name...It's just a name for the technology, no biggie...Lot's of companies name designs and ideas they come up with...
So to Trushot_archer I would suggest if you get the chance go and shoot the Patriot and others too. Then you can base your own opinion and maybe find out what you're missing out on...
