I'm very partial to the equalizer (check their web site). It's closer to $300.00, but a very good stand...especially if you climb trees that are tapered...bigger at the bottom than at the height you'll be hunting from. You can adjust it as you go up so that you are still level when you get to your hunting height.
Before my equalizer I used an API grand slam which was okay..though a bit noisy with the chains. Since getting my equalizer, the API has not been in the woods once and will probably become my "practice stand" in about 2 weeks when we move into our new home...with a little land



and I can set it up.
BTW...I think I read somewhere that Lonewolf is or has come out with a leveling type stand as well, but can't be sure. If so, it's be a big hit since a lot of folks here seem to love the Lonewolf stands.
