This AM I went to the same tree I was in yesterday when I killed the doe I posted yesterday. I had left my climber overnight and just went up the same tree. At 8:00 this guy walked in and started feeding on acorns. I watched him for about 15 minutes before taking the shot. I decided to shoot him because I passed on a forkhorn twice last year hoping for something bigger and never had a chance. I wanted a bow buck and there he was waiting 15 min. for me to decide.I was also waiying to see if anything else was with him. I made a much better shot than I did on the doe. This was double lung. He went 25yds and piled up in sight.
All three deer I have killed with a bow have come from that same tree. Last year I got the doe while sitting on the ground. After choking on the 8 point last week,(same tree), I decided to get in the tree. I think I have a good spot.
To those who would condemn me for shooting a spike,oh well. I am very happy with this deer. The only regret I have is that I didn't get more points for my team.
Two deer in two days is something I never did with a gun in all those years of gun hunting. My 2 vacation days have been good ones!
I also still have 1 buck tag and 2 doe tags left. See ya in the woods tomorrow! How about 3 in a row!!!
