Default SPS 7MM-08

Well I ordered one. Every since I noticed that the SPS came in that caliber with a 24 inch barrel I have wanted one. Since Remington usually discontiues my favorite models like the BDL in 280 with the 24 inch barrel, I decided to get this one while the getting was good. I really Like the SPS and the 24 inch barrels sealed the deal. The 7mm-08 is about as perfect a caliber for all NA non dagerious game out to 300 yards and has hardly any recoil for OLD bad shoulders, I needed to add one.

Barnes sums this one up pretty well. " If you want a rifle that handles varmits to moose and is light on recoil, the 7MM-08 Might be for you. They recommend the 160 grain for Moose and elk and the 130-140 for deer and antelope. I think the 140 TXS will handle them all. Thats the first load I will try. I want to put a good 2x7 scope on it or I may finally give in and buy the Shepard scope. My hunting buddy has the Shepard on his 280 Browning A-Bolt so I have had a chance to check them out.
