I would argue with you on your last 2 points.
I sell against Chinese imported products. Unfortunately I have noticed the quality of workmanship has gone up in the last year or so and rejected product has dropped. They still have a way to go but improvements are being made.
The product I see does not have a high quality paint on it but it is not lead paint
the prodcuts you see may not have lead paint, but many painbted fence products including horse fence, hog pannels, and fence ties, wire and T-posts I have worked with lately must have lead paint since the products have a sticker on them or the packaging that that states "this product contains Lead a chemical known to the state of california to cause cancer, birth defects and other reproductive harm" I know the metal used in the products surely dont conatain lead it has to be the paint they are coated with. Yea Id prefer to use products made in the USA for these applications but its difficult when all we have is home depot carrying this made china junk, i was told lowes might carry the same things only made in the USA but the nearest lowes is over 100 miles away so im kinda stuck with what home depot carries.
I bought a package of toy cars I was gonna give to my friends son for his birthday untill I noticed the packaging also toted that well known lead warning also. yea those toy cars went back to wally world. I instead got him some bob the builder stuff yea its made in china too but atleast it shouldnt contain lead. theres just no way in heck I would knowingly expose a wonderful child like him to lead.
Im not saying all there painted products have lead paint but enough from what ive seen do.
