Default RE: grizzly caliber

ORIGINAL: tjfslaughter

I have successfully hunted Grizzlies with a 300 win mag. The guide I use carries a 300 win mag and has for 20 years. He has guided hundreds of hunts over the years. The knock down power is plenty with a 200 grain Nosler Partition. The first shot must break the bear down (break the front shoulder, both if possible). Then go in for the kill. You should always have a buddy/guide as a back up gun, and don't stop shooting till the bear is not moving, the last thing you want is to chase a wounded bear in the alders. Do the research on the ballistics of various cartiges and you will find the 30 cal magnums have the reach out and touch capabilities and plenty of knock down power. Call any bear guide in Alaska to check. This one was 8'6"

Awesome! Congrat's
