Default RE: Question about Decoys

The reason for fall turkey hunting is management of family flocks. The percentage of gobblers taken are far lower then hens and young birds. As the other have stated , decoys are really unnesasary in the fall. If one would like to use them I would target the Hen decoy over the rest, as I could see a problem in the safety department in the fall. Most turkey hunters are wanting a gobbler and because they do not respound to calls like the spring, ambush is the next best thing.

Steve , your really studing fall turkey hunting , you know because I have shared the turkey woods with you and know you as a smart and safe hunter , I just may take you on your first fall hunt this month. But only if your up to that
