I used Rocket Miniblaster 3L's for many years. I've taken around 20 deer with them. They do a great job BUT................

I've found that they are only good for one shot. Whether you hit or miss the deer. The blades bend or break easily after the shot.

Rarely have I shot one an been able to reuse the broadhead. There was always at least one blade bent enough that it would not fold back up. I read somewhere that they were designed to bend or break to help with penetration. If the blade would hit bone, it would bend or break so the arrow would keep traveling and not stop.

I switched to the more durable Wasp Jak-Hammer's for a couple years. They were a bit more durable. Then I started shooting Muzzy 75 grn. fixed blades.

Nowadays there are many more expandables on the market than when I was using Miniblasters.

The Miniblasters do a great job, just be aware that after the shot you will be replacing blades. After several shots, you can usually take thebad blades off and switch them with the good ones from another and make a couple of the broadheads good again.

They do hit the same as target tips of the same weight.

This is an entrance hole from a Miniblaster shot at a quatering away shot at a sharp angle. It sorta sliced along the ribs a bit. Not all wounds looked like this.
Be aware that sometimes expanables may bounce off off a ribcage if the angle is sharp enoungh. I'd reccommend only broad side shots.
