I like John's answer the best! If you place your whole hand with heel pressure against the grip as with your longbows, you will almost always torque your recurve. The fact that you are shooting tight groups probably shows that you are consistent with your torque (as with your longbows). Most recurves (in my humble experience) perform best with minimal/no heel contact. Try drawing with only the "V" portion of your bow hand between your thumb and forefinger, concentrating the pressure of your draw in this small area, keeping the heel of your hand and your remaining three fingers off the bow.
After shooting the longbow, this may feel awkward at first. Stay with it for a few sessions to give your metacarpal muscles a chance to strengthen.
