RE: 260 remington ackley improved?

well i have enough bolt actions right now. i want a gun that i can use with iron sights. for stalking up in maine. as for brownings. i love mine and i would have to say i might not ever turn back that way of cheap white metal trigger assemblies and those pesky trigger locks they have on them.
i did look at the 700 mountain in 280rem one year but i have heard about the barrel heating too quickly.maybe if i got one i would change out the barrel like you where thinking but just get it fluted. and have iron sights put on it.
but for now i am going for a browning BLR in the big brother of the 260rem, the 7mm-08rem.i did see a box of ammo. those rounds look like pencils. i did miss a used browning stainless stalker in 260rem. should of bought it but i did not have the money or the room in my gun safe.
but let me know how she does on deer. i might actually hold off till i find another used browning in 260rem.
