I am sure that the 270 and 30-06 have taken more big bears than any other calibers. I don't like the 338's but would recommend the 375 H&H and one that I have owned and used, the 416 Rem Mag. I also would not hesitate to use the 45-70 and or the 444 and 450 Marlins. My minimum would be the 30-06 and I feel good packing the 7600 Pump with five 200 grain Nosler Partitions.
