RE: How many of you shoot until it drops?
Yourbest chance of killing a deer is with the first shot.
Thinking about a second shows a lack of confidence in the first.
Why would somebody wait for a clear broadside shot, take careful aim squeeze off the shot, and then think that any shots after that are going to be anywhere near as good when the deer is busting through the woods after the first?
Here is my deer killing procedure for hunting whitetailsin the woods.
1.Wait for good shot.
2.Take it.
3.Spot exactly where deer was standing when shot was taken.
4.Remember what direction deer went, and how deer ran after shot.
5.Listen in the direction he ran.
6.Wait 15 minutes.
7.Go find blood.
8.Find deer at the end of short blood trail.
If the hunter follows these steps, he is in complete control of the situation.
