I'm a recurve shooter and I always shoot "off the shelf" when possible. I know some of the metal riser bows need a rest. And though I've never used one myself, I would recomend F&D's dream rest or AMS's wave rest. Both rests are made for bowfishing by people with LOTS of bowfishing experience. (and they have both done a bunch to support our club)
