I like the Velcro
1) put it on before you leave for the woods,mine has a pivot so it can swing and tuck up my sleeve.
2)the Velcro doesn't slip because it is backed up by a plastic buckle so the pressure is never directly on the Velcro.
The leather is fine also but stretches more ,so the need to poke a new hole may arise.
