You are getting about like me. I need a gun cabnet with wheels to take everything afield.. I think the 165 or 180 would work well. Another good one to try would be the Speer 150 grain Mag Tip. They expand very well at speeds from 2000 fps on up. They work great in the T?C 30-30 barrel at 2100 fps. A friend of mine has taken some trophy whitetail and caribou with that combo. Tghat out to 200 yards or a bit more. That bullet was off the market for a while but its back now and its a good one.

I have seen quite a few 300 Savages in the 760. As mentioned above, it was the hottest 30 caliber Non Mag out there for quite some time. I have one in the 700 Classic but I don't shoot that one.
