The 300 Savage was a big improvment over the old 30-30. Not far behind the 308, it will take most NA game. pretty effective on big game with the 165 and 180 grain bullets. For deer, its a fine round and the 760 is hard to beat. Have you picked up loading stuff for it yet? Come deer season you won't know which new rifle to try out first.
