Default My biggest buck (pics I hope...)

After not shooting a nice buck last year my hopes were high for this year. Two weekends ago I was invited to some prime land and jumped at the chance - having never scouted the area I was at a friends mercy but he came through.

'Walk down this tree strip 1/2 mile to the fence, turn south & go in about 3 rows of trees & find the big Y and put your portable there - see you at 9:00' was the advice I got & I was off.

Got the stand up & was ready by 6:45, legal shooting at 6:50 - a bit late for me but not TOO bad timing considering I got up at 1:30 am to start driving... 5 minutes later I have a small 6 (3x3) passing by & grunted into easy range - I let him go - 10 minutes later after he's snort/wheezing at me he spooks for no reason. I check back where he was checking & out comes this guy - head down - looking for that little buck.

I immediately saw a decent rack & started getting ready - I got the bow on & released hooked up as I heard him trotting towards me - he passed almost under me to my left (2 yards) and when he cleared the tree I was in I saw the right side of the rack & wigged out - the G2 & 3 were huge & I instantly decided he was a shooter.

At full draw & 10 yards he 1/4'd away & I grunted - he stopped, I leveled out & put the Hogg-It behind the front shoulder - touching off the lil'goose the Bowtech Patriot sent my MATRIX arrow tipped with a slicktrick broadhead at about 260fps right to the X. He took off favoring the right shoulder & about 30 seconds later I heard him go down. The 'hit' will be another post (if the pics work)

here he is (I hope)

He's not a book buck but he his the biggest I've ever taken - the right side is 6, the left 4 - the G2 is broken off the left and he's not nearly as wide or as heavy as I thought - but still a trophy for me!!!
