I am looking for some good loads for the .54 cal. white mountain carbine. I want to use Pyrodex Pellets with sabots. What is good load for elk and deer?
The deer that got hit by this 54/45 bullet took one step and fell dead into 1-1/2 feet of water in the swamp. Guess who had to put on the waders to retrieve this deer for my huntin' bud???... yep - Me!
He uses 100 grains Pyrodex RS with both of his MLs. This one is a Lyman Deerstalker 54 with 1-48" twist.
