Default RE: Fresh Snow in Maine

My father and brother both took deer on Saturday before the snow started. I got a 120 pound spike the Monday before and my uncle took a 120 pound six pointer the week before. Now only my older brother and my cousin are left out of the group I hunt with.

Three of us have extra doe tags, but I still haven't decided if I will shoot another or not - I thought I probably woulf since I have several non-hunting friends who want as much venison as I will give them and the area could use some management. That was before we found the three dead deer right off my tree stand.

Some ******* stacked up two nice does and a skipper and left them there (we think my father happened upon the guy on Tuesday - he saw someone and they boogied into the woods - the old man is quadrapalegic so he couldn't get out of the truck and follow him). Frankly, there are literally so many deer in that area that this probably helped more than it hurt, but I just can't fathom trespassing on posted land and killing three deer and then LEAVING THEM TO ROT.

Yeah, that tree stand is deadly, too. A few years ago it took five bucks in one season alone. And I can't tell you the number of does I have passed up from it. I shot my deer from it this year. If you have the patience to sit there all day and can make up to a 200 yard shot, you can tag out in one day, guaranteed.
