I'd say try and find your arrow first, hopefully you can get some clues as to how your hit was. Mark the location where you last saw him, and where you know there is blood to follow. You can get rid of alot of the trailing if you find blood where you last saw him and start from there.

Be patient and persistant, and hopefully you will find him. Good luck tomorrow.
