I wear one when I hunt with a jacket, just to keep the jacket against my arm. Other than that I never wear one. If you hit your arm with a bow in a regular long sleeve shirt or short sleeves your are doing something wrong or you bow doesn't fit you.

I have never hit my arm with a bow, and I have shot some with sub 6 inch brace heights.
