The question for me Twang is simple. I own both, several climbers and several fixed position stands....however

If I were to own only one, it would be a climber stand.

Like Sag said, you can always use a climber as a fixed position stand with sticks or steps but you can't use a fixed position stand as a climber without the sticks or steps.

The versatility of a climber makes it a much better choice for all around use.
