AB, Your "dog and arrow test" results (boy that sounds bad ) match what I've noticed in over 15 yrs of bowhunting. That being an alert animal is much more likely to jump the string than a calm animal, and that an animal's reflexes are quicker than the fastest arrow. We can't control how alert an animal is, but we can control how noisy our shot is to some extent. Since deer (even alert deer) are less likely to flinch at quiet sounds, I'll take slow and silent every time over quick and noisy.

As to the suitability of your bow for 3-D shooting... This may come as a shock to some of the play for keeps 3-D types, but 3-D shooting was originally started by bowhunters looking for a fun way to practice bowhunting shots with of course (Gasp! ) BOWHUNTING equipment! In my opinion, your camo rig is the ideal outfit to shoot 3-D with. Your shooting sounds exceptional, particularly for a relative newcomer. Take your bow out and enjoy it!
