Or, you could load that160 grain Partition inthe 270 and have a higher SD bullet in that weight. I assure you that if you can cleanly take elk with the 280, you can also do it with the 270. You gotta go to the 175 in the 280 to get any meaningfull gain over the 270 and even then it very little. The fact that you can use the 175 in the 280 makes it a bit more versitile.
